［ Characteristics of the plant ］
Native to Australia, the tea tree grows in wetlands in the wild, growing 3-4 metres tall and with pointed leaves and yellow or purple flowers, but is now cultivated in large quantities. Tea tree essential oil is colourless and transparent, with a strong but pleasant scent, which is why it is also used in perfumes. More than 100kg of tea tree leaves are needed to produce 1-2L of essential oil.
